JESSICA ROSE COREY, Ph.D. 

Known as JC to many of my friends and colleagues, I'm a native of Cleveland, Ohio who now resides in North Carolina, where I serve as Assistant Director of First-Year Writing and Associate Professor of the Practice at Duke University. In addition to being a teacher and administrator, I'm winner of the 2026 College English Association's Professional Achievement Award; Founder and President of the nonprofit organization, The Purple Collar Project; and a writer, researcher, mother, wannabe world traveler, activist, volunteer, and lover of red lipstick, beaches, reality television, online shopping, gummy bears, performing arts, trips home, rainy days, old books, to-do lists, and scenic routes.
